At an early age, Master Perry began his training in Shotokan Karate, in his home country of Jamaica. In addition to Shotokan Karate, he also studied Shaolin Kung Fu (Monkey, Northern Eagle Claw, Snake Style, and a little taste of Drunken Boxing). Upon arrival in the United States, Master Perry continued his journey of Martial Arts by training in the art of Tae Kwon Do. Master Perry began competing in open sparring championships on the NASKA Circuit. In 1991, Master Perry was ranked number one in the NASKA Circuit Men's Lightweight Division.
